Where To Find The Icerind Hatchet
The Icerind Hatchet is one of these weapons that is tucked away and may be missed by many players as they charge on through the lake to the Raya Lucaria Academy. Along the eastern side of the Liurnia Of The Lakes is a small-destroyed set of buildings known as the Temple Quarter. You’ll pass many Giant Land Octopi on your way to the water line, but they can be easily ignored and ridden past.
To reach the Temple Quarter, start from the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace on the far eastern side of Lirunia. From here, head towards northwest along the lake and into the destroyed buildings partially submerged in the water. Upon reaching the Temple Quarter, you’ll find many Albinaurics patrolling the destroyed buildings, along with Glintstone Flowers firing magic at you from all angles. The Glintstone Flowers have a decent range but don’t do massive amounts of damage and tend to be more of an annoyance than a threat. Near the middle of the town will be a tower standing just above the rest of the other buildings, and within it is a chest containing the Icerind Hatchet.
How To Use The Icerind Hatchet
The Icerind Hatchet requires 11 strength and 16 dexterity to wield. After a few upgrades, it scales off of both stats but starts to scale more heavily from your Dexterity stat. This weapon only deals physical damage and cannot be given status buffs from different items to give it other elemental affinities. Attacks with this weapon cause a decent amount of frost build-up on hit enemies.
This weapon also comes with its unique skill: Hoarfrost Stomp. With this unique skill, you’re unable to equip an Ash of War onto this weapon. This skill has your character stomp on the ground, sending out a cone of frost that deals heavy damage and frost build-up on affected enemies. This skill only costs 10 FP, which is an incredibly useful skill compared to its area of effect and damage output. The skill is activated quickly and will explode after the initial spread, damaging enemies a second time or those who entered the area of effect after the initial cast.
