Highlights
- Twitch streamer creates unique Skyrim mod that allows chat to voice NPCs in real-time.
- Blurbs’ clip of the mod goes viral on X (formerly Twitter) and accumulates more than 1.5 million views.
- The Twitch streamer may potentially integrate the mod into other Bethesda titles.
Twitch streamers allowing their chat to control their games can sometimes be a thing of beauty. We’ve seen Pokemon Crystal beaten in under 36 hours thanks to a speedrunner’s chat, but we’ve also seen a streamer fail miserably at completing Resident Evil 4 when their Twitch chat has the ability to take control.
Streamers continue to find unique ways to integrate their Twitch chat into their gaming experience, for better or worse. This time, Twitch streamer Blurbs is becoming a viral sensation after he created a mod that allowed his chat to voice NPCs in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in real-time. As you can imagine, it resulted in some pretty hilarious moments.
Starfield Is Heading Towards The Top Of The Mod Charts Dominated By Skyrim
And the creation kit hasn’t been released yet.
With over 1.5 million views at the time of writing, a new post from Blurbs on X (formerly Twitter) has shared some of the funniest moments from the modded stream. The streamer also noted that if you die as an NPC in the game, you’ll ‘die’ in real life. But what he really meant was you’d be banned from his Twitch chat, which, again, resulted in some hilarious moments.
There are a bunch of funny moments that you can check out in the clip below, such as Blurbs approaching an NPC, only for them to respond by saying, “Hello there, I’m brought to you by Raid: Shadow Legends.”
Blurbs noted that he has never created a mod before, but told Dexerto that it was in the works for a little over a month. “It’s my first ever attempt at modding a video game so there was a bit of a learning curve,” Blurbs said. He also noted that he has a background as a software developer, which made the process a little easier.
As for whether or not Blurbs plans on bringing this hilarious mod to other games, he said, “Many of my viewers have asked me to use this mod with Fallout, given the popularity of the recent TV show. It should be possible and I plan to take a whack at it once I’ve had my fun with Skyrim.”
If you’re interested in the process that Blurbs took to create this mod, the content creator will have a new video on their channel in the coming weeks.
