The Lands Between in Elden Ring are teeming with secrets to uncover, including unique bosses, caves, and mini-dungeons. One such dungeon is the Deathtouched Catacombs, located in northern Limgrave, the starting region of the game. Similar to many caves and dungeons, the Deathtouched Catacombs are tucked away from the main path that players might usually follow while exploring Limgrave, making them virtually obscure.

Deathtouched Catacombs Location
The nearest site of Grace to the Deathtouched Catacombs is the Saintsbridge site of Grace, situated in the northernmost region of Limgrave. If you haven’t discovered this site of grace yet, you can refer to the video above, which highlights the Saintsbridge site of grace in red.
Upon reaching this site of grace, be cautious of the Pumpkin Head enemy guarding the bridge. It’s recommended to sprint past the Pumpkin Head and activate the Saintsbridge site of grace before attempting to challenge this enemy.
After activating the Saintsbridge site of grace, travel a short distance north and climb up the rocky structures to discover a ghostly figure resting by the entrance to the Deathtouched Catacombs.
What Can You Find In The Deathtouched Catacombs
The Deathtouched Catacombs may seem simple, but it is no less dangerous. Inside, you’ll encounter skeleton enemies capable of resurrecting even after being defeated. To truly eliminate them, you must destroy their remains or use a holy weapon.
Venturing westward into the dungeon, you’ll encounter a locked iron door guarding the entrance to the main boss chamber. To unlock it, travel further west to find the lever that unlocks this door. As you explore, keep an eye out for Grave Gloveworts and Grave Violets scattered throughout, as well as the Uchigatana katana. Getting to the katana’s location could be a little bit tricky. So, make sure to check out the video above to learn the path to the location.
Once the lever is activated, return to the boss chamber door and traverse through the mist to confront a wounded Black Knife Assassin.
Black Knife Assassins are challenging enemies, and since they are agile, it’s difficult to anticipate their attacks. However, this particular assassin’s health is already halved, and it moves slower than other Black Knife Assassins you’ll encounter later in the game.
Upon defeating the Black Knife Assassin, you’ll obtain the Assassin’s Crimson Dagger, a talisman that grants you the ability to recover health upon landing critical attacks.
Furthermore, within the boss chamber lies a treasure chest containing Deathroot, a quest item necessary for advancing one of the quests in the game. To learn more about Deathroot and progress the associated quest, seek out an NPC named D, Hunter of the Dead.
While in Limgrave, you may also be interested in finding and purchasing a rare but important item known as Margit’s Shackles. These shackles can prove invaluable when you challenge the first boss you’ll encounter before progressing to Stormveil Castle.
