Brandon Jenkins Plans to ‘Bury’ His Opponent on May 30th

The last time Brandon Jenkins took the professional combat sports walk was on March 2nd at Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA: Dos Santos vs Belcher. Jenkins fought Tyler Hill, a tough American Top Team athlete. “The Human Highlight Reel” made it two finishes in a row when he stopped Hill in the third round with a brutal onslaught of punches. On May 30th, he looks to make it three finishes in a row and continue to add to his highlight reel when he faces Charles Ontiveros.

Brandon Jenkins Seeks Third Straight Finish at Karate Combat 46

Jenkins has previously shown off his incredibly dangerous striking capacity in the Karate Combat pit. At Karate Combat 43, Jenkins battered former BKFC title holder Gorjan Slaveski with devasting knee strikes that ultimately led to a first round finish. Jenkins will look to take full advantage of a new rule implemented by the powers that be at Karate Combat 46—thigh kicks.

“This card on May 30th—[Karate Combat] are allowing kicks to the thigh for the first time. So, I’m going to chop my opponent’s leg. Charles Ontiveros is a 4th degree black belt in taekwondo and uses a wide stance. So, he’s susceptible to leg kicks.”

Fight Camp and Preparation

Jenkins has competed in traditional mixed martial arts competition, bare knuckle MMA, boxing, and pro karate. Despite having to switch rule sets on fight night, the Syndicate MMA combatant does not have to switch up the gym routine. Jenkins told MMASucka, “This camp hasn’t been much different to be honest. Five of my last six opponents have been six foot one to six foot three. I’m pretty used to fighting tall strikers at this point.”

Eyes on Gold

Jenkins didn’t hold back when discussing the game plan for his second Karate Combat fight. The 32-year-old emphatically stated, “I’m planning on going to Texas May 30th and burying Charlie in the desert. Then, I’m gonna go relieve the champion of his belt later this year. Rafael Aghayev is the champ and he’s the goat. But he’s been to five decisions in a row. After I finish Charlie, it’ll be my third finish in a row. He’s the goat; he’s an Olympian, but the people deserve a champ that finishes fights.”
