Remedy Entertainment has teamed up with Finnish brewery company Tornion Panimon to bring the fictional beer known as Ahma to life. Featured multiple times throughout Alan Wake 2, lager lovers can now get their hands on some officially licensed Ahma beer…if you live in Finland, that is.
Alan Wake 2 was one of the most popular and critically acclaimed titles of last year, having picked up multiple awards at the BAFTAs, The Game Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, and not to mention, my personal game of the year. While Remedy is now focusing on the likes of Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes and Control 2, Alan Wake’s lore gets to live on as its fictional beer comes to life.
Story-Driven Games Like Alan Wake 2 Help Movie Buffs Cross The Gaming Threshold
Narrative-based titles are the gateway to future movie/game hybrids.
If you just worked your way through Alan Wake 2 as quickly as possible, there’s a good chance you missed out on the many collectable items that the game has to offer. One of which is Koskela Ads, a series of TV commercials by the Koskela brothers that advertise various different products in the Alan Wake universe.
There are a total of six different adverts for players to collect and view, ranging from adventure tours to coffee. But one of the most famous adverts in the game is for the Koskela brothers’ very own Ahma beer, which features the slogan “unleash your inner Wolverine.”
Instead of collecting Ahma in a fictional advertisement form, now you can pick up a crate in real life. As discovered by X (formerly Twitter) users The Sudden Stop and Kinahmi, a Finland-based brewery known as Tornion Panimon has teamed up with Remedy Entertainment to develop Ahma, a “Finnish-style sauna lager,” according to their website.
Unfortunately, for all of you fellow Alan Wake fans in the rest of the world, officially licensed Ahma lager is currently only available in Finland. If you’re based in Finland, you can pick up a crate in K-Ruoka & S-Kaupat stores.
