Billy Donovan said he checked with Zach LaVine on his left shoulder and LaVine said at halftime he’d try the first 5 minutes to see if he could go. Donovan didn’t hear from LaVine again. LaVine was clearly wincing throughout and raising left arm over head as if to stretch it – 10:43 PM

Zach LaVine only had two 3’s in his entire previous season where he got off the ball and relocated to the 3-point line. He had two in the 4th quarter against the Grizzlies, leading a huge comeback.

Guard Zach LaVine compared Giddey to Ricky Rubio, while veteran big man Nikola Vucevic has raved about how perfectly Giddey fits into what they want to do offensively. “I think [Giddey’s] playmaking is huge and a thing that is going to help us a lot,” Vucevic said. “He makes passes that not many people can see, and I think his size is something that people underestimate a little bit. “For him, it’s the same as it is for us, just getting used to playing next to each other. As a team, we need to build that chemistry, but I think he’s a player that can help us a lot, especially with his vision.
