Besides the Shard of Alexander, the Claw Talisman wins the award for being able to slot into almost every build and still be incredibly useful. When it’s equipped, the Claw Talisman gives a 15% damage increase to jumping attacks (7.5% in PvP). The sheer power of jump attacks in Elden Ring makes the Claw Talisman useful in almost every situation when the Tarnished is fighting an enemy.
Elden Ring: Where Is The Church Of Vows?
Elden Ring’s Church of Vows is not only significant in the lore — it’s also your only way to atone for your sins of attacking friendly NPCs.
Getting to the talisman, however, is not easy. It requires solving a rather complex and well-hidden jumping puzzle in Stormveil Castle. Here’s how to start that jumping puzzle and the best way to navigate your way through it, as well as how to best use this powerful item once it’s acquired.

Where is the Claw Talisman?
There are a few different ways to reach the tower holding the Claw Talisman. Here’s the fastest way to get to its location, which we’ve also included as a video format above:
- Start at the Rampart Tower Site of Grace and head out of the northern exit.
- Look to the right and there’ll be a roof just below with a ruined white pillar.
- Back off and sprint toward the ledge, then jump at the last moment to get as much distance as possible from this jump.
- Land on that roof and be careful of the bird on the nearby roof: It can aggro to the player and be very difficult to deal with.
- Climb up the ruined pillar and onto the railing.
- Follow the railing around the building until it opens up into a new area.
- Be careful in this new area because there are enemies hiding on the platform to the left, and one that’s resting to the right.
- This new area will have two stairs and a middle section with a ladder. Take the ladder up.
- On a body to the right will be the Claw Talisman.
Alternate Route
If the jump in step 3 is a little too tricky, here’s an alternate route to get the talisman, which you can also see in the video above:
- Starting from the Rampart Tower Site of Grace, head out of the southeast exit.
- Turn to the right and go up the wooden stairs.
- Follow the stairs to the top and head through the archway at the top, then turn to the left.
- Follow the hallway until arriving at an exit on the right side.
- There will be a pile of sandbags along the wall in front. Hop onto those sandbags and stand on top of the wall.
- Follow the wall to the right. On reaching the tower, turn left and follow that railing until reaching the corner.
- From that corner, leap to the railing on the nearby ruined tower to the northeast.
- Follow the railing to the other side of the building and there will be a roof just below that can be safely dropped to.
- Land on that roof and be careful of the bird that will be right behind. While you can stop by to kill it, we strongly suggest you act as shown in the video above to escape the bird without taking any damage.
- On that same rooftop, look to the north and there will be a small rooftop that will act as a bridge to the roof with the ruined pillar. Walk across it, and there’ll be a ruined white pillar that can be used as a ramp.
From that point, step 5 onward from the original route will lead the Tarnished to their valuable prize.
How To Use The Claw Talisman
The Claw Talisman fits into almost any physical damage build, but it shines the best in builds that make the most of power-stanced attacks. For example, putting points into strength and dual-wielding two Giant-Crusher Hammers will result in ridiculously powerful jump attacks. Combine that with the Raptor’s Black Feathers chest piece, and fans can further increase their jump attacks’ damage by an additional 10%.
If a spare slot is available for an Ash of War, using this talisman with Royal Knight’s Resolve will further increase jump attacks’ damage to monstrous heights. While Royal Knight’s Resolve can be used multiple times as the setup for a power-stanced jump attack, an alternative option is to get a stance break from either a parry, spell, or heavy attack and then cast the Ash of War and follow it up with a jump attack.
