Finding The Carian Knight’s Sword

First, you’ll want to travel to the Northwest of Liurnia of the Lakes. You can either make your way onto the West strip from the middle of the swamp or by riding southward from Caria Manor if you have unlocked that Site of Grace already. It is tempting to start at the bottom of the strip to the West of Liurnia and work your way up, but you will be blocked by rocks and need to backtrack.

As you travel south, a surprisingly challenging knight on horseback will be in your path. The choice to fight him is yours; if you’re still at a relatively low level, you may want to ride past him. After defeating or cruising by him, keep making your way south until you come across a carriage that is being pulled by two giant trolls. To make the carriage come to a halt, kill one of the trolls (preferably from a distance since they won’t be able to hit you). Once the carriage is stopped, ride around to the back side of the carriage, and you will see a chest. Open the chest, and you will obtain the Carian Knight’s Sword.

This straight sword scales with Intelligence, Strength, and Dexterity while also dealing magic damage. Its base attack and magic damage are 88 prior to upgrading with Somber Smithing Stones.

While you cannot put an Ash of War on this weapon, it has a built-in ability, The Carian Grandeur. Using the sword’s unique heavy attack not only deals a lethal blow but also blocks any incoming attacks before the slash comes out.
