Elden Ring offers players a wide array of powerful spells to deal massive amounts of damage to single enemies or decently high amounts of damage to many enemies. It’s important to bring a variety of spells to handle different situations or get around stronger enemies’ resistance.

While exploring the open world, you’ll often come across large groups of enemies, making AOE spells great options to keep while exploring. Those who took the time to find and fight Astel, Stars of Darkness, will recognize the spell Founding Rain Of Stars, now able to use it as their own powerful AOE attack.

Where To Find Founding Rain Of Stars

The spell itself is located in the northern mountains of the Lands Between, in a small building called Heretical Rise. When you first reach this location, the front door will be sealed shut with magic, telling you to follow the snow to get inside. To be able to enter Heretical Rise, you’ll need to head to the other side of the ravine, which is easiest if you start from the Freezing Lake Site of Grace.

From this site of grace, head north to the area above where you currently are, and head to the side of the ravine that is directly across from Heretical Rise. Among the rocks of the mountain, you’ll see a structured bridge that leads toward Heretical Rise. Between the bridge, you’re standing on and the building you’re going towards is an invisible bridge to walk across, and it’s a great help to be online to see other players’ messages and death markers to know where the bridge is. Bring a simple item that can be thrown towards the ground in front of you to continuously check to see where it is or is not safe to walk. Once in Heretical Rise, head left and up through the building to find a chest at the top building with the spell within.

How To Use Founding Rain Of Stars

Founding Rain Of Stars is a powerful spell requiring 52 intelligence to memorize, taking up two memory slots, and costs 27 FP to cast. This spell will cause a short-range AOE effect of stars raining down from above, dealing magic damage. This spell has a slight delay between its initial cast and when the stars begin to fall and can only have one active cast happening at a time.

This spell has a short range and is only able to target the center of the stars on a close enemy. Should your target be too far away, it’ll cause the center of the starfall to be around the caster. This spell is excellent at dealing with groups of enemies, and its attacks come from above, making it easily take care of enemies using a shield.
