Elden Ring: Where To Find The Vacuum Slice Ash Of War
Vacuum Slice is a powerful skill on any weapon in Elden Ring. Here’s where to find its Ash of War.
These spirit ashes start off as just a few wolves, with you later finding much more powerful ashes, such as Finlay. Named ashes are much stronger than regular spirit ashes, and all of them can be upgraded many times to make them more efficient in combat. While Finlay’s ashes are found later in the game, they are incredibly useful in dealing with powerful bosses or New Game plus enemies.

Where To Find Finlay’s Ashes
To find Finlay’s ashes, you’ll first need to start at the Prayer Room site of grace at Haligtree. Go out the door to the north, and follow the pathway it leads down. Fight through the different enemies following the path until it splits up a stairway leading to an upper area to the left. Head up the stairs to the left and clear it of enemies before heading to the rails on the right side. From here, you’ll see a gazebo-like structure with ash nearby it.
Look over the edge to see an archway that connects to the platform you’re currently standing on. Jump over the railing and over the edge to land on the archway, flowing it down before jumping over to the platform with the gazebo. From the gazebo, look through the door near it to see a small room guarded by a single soldier with a Cleanrot Knight further within. Take out both enemies, with the Cleanrot knight being reasonably powerful, to open the chest at the back of the room it was guarding and obtain Finlay’s ashes.
Finlay’s Abilities And Uses
Finlay is named legendary spirit ash, meaning they are very powerful and will cost 127 FP to summon, which can be a lot for non-magic users. Aside from the mimic tear, Finlay is arguably the second-best summonable ash that players can use. It will need to be upgraded like all other spirit ashes, but at any level, it can be an incredibly effective companion and will melt bosses at its highest level.
Upon being summoned, Finlay will cast a decently strong heal-over-time spell affecting both you and Finlay. Finlay comes equipped with a longer-range spear that can deal holy damage, along with firing rings of holy damage over a short distance. Finlay has a powerful sword with quick and painful combos for closer-range enemies. Finlay also comes with an ability that greatly affects an enemy with Scarlet Rot, which is perfect for boss fights as constant damage output. Many legendary spirit ashes come with a ton of health, with Finlay being near the top right behind the mimic tear, guaranteeing it’ll be standing for much of a long, drawn-out fight.
