The Alabama Crimson Tide were riding high after toppling then-No. 2 Georgia in Week 5, usurping the Texas Longhorns for the No. 1 spot in the AP rankings this week.
But the SEC’s juggernauts appeared to be caught in a classic trap game, finding themselves down 13-0 in the first quarter to Vanderbilt.
It seemed to be a trap of their own making too, as the early deficit was worsened by a pick-six thrown by Crimson Tide star quarterback Jalen Milroe — a pass tipped high in the air and returned by Vanderbilt’s Randon Fontenette 29 yards to the house.
