Rivals.com national basketball analyst, Rob Cassidy here Thursday is mail bag day here at Rivals got a bunch of questions this week.

The first one dealing with Saint John’s, which is a little bit interesting to me because somebody asked essentially what is going on and why aren’t they recruiting?

Um And why I wouldn’t say they aren’t recruiting.

I would say that it is going to be a light high school class uh in 2025 for Rick Pitino and it seems calculated, you know, he was conspicuous by his absence, Peach Jam this year and just hasn’t been chasing the high school talent.

I think maybe in that area, it’s kind of a down here as far as depth goes.

I know he did reach out to four star guard Ken Mingo.

That doesn’t seem like it’s developed yet, but they are, you know, they have kind of had their interest peaked there and I know they’ve been in contact.

I’ve confirmed that as far as how this class will look, I don’t know how many high school kids they’re going to pursue in this class.

It might be some late cycle ads.

I’ve watched the international market for Saint John’s.

I’ve heard uh from some plugged in people in the area up there in Queens that they’ve kind of been poking around internationally at some high level prospects.

So you might see some of that.

Uh And then also it is the transfer portal era.

So you can kind of take a class on the high school front and back fill uh that way.

And it seems like that is what Rick Pitino was going to do.

He was uh he was scarce this year on the grassroots circuit, which I think was by the, but it’s not necessarily time to panic or anything because there are so many different ways to go about filling out your roster in the name, image and likeness era as far as and also in the transfer portal era.

So I’ve watched that.

Um So no reason to panic.
