Suns not looking to trade Kevin Durant, Devin Booker or Bradley Beal

Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal had a procedure done on his nose in Phoenix shortly after the Suns were eliminated from the playoffs this year. The Minnesota Timberwolves swept the Suns in April. The sixth-seeded Suns were the first team eliminated from the postseason. Beal suffered a broken nose taking an elbow from Pacers big Myles Turner in the second half of a Jan. 26 loss in Indianapolis. Wearing a mask for several games, Beal ditched it in March when returning from a hamstring injury. The Phoenix Suns have not lived up to expectations since pulling off big deals for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal to join them with Devin Booker. But that does not mean the team is giving up. Suns general manager James Jones joined “The Burns and Gambo Show” on Arizona Sports radio for an interview Friday. The Rockets still have interest in acquiring a star during this rebuild, team sources said, but age, timeline, contract flexibility — and most importantly, timing — are all factors that will play a part in their search. The Rockets position themselves to be aggressive in future trade scenarios with the Suns should that franchise need to disassemble. For now, the Suns plan to keep trying to win with Durant and Devin Booker, but the Rockets acquiring those Suns picks give them an inside track on a possible deal should a Suns star — particularly Booker, who’s 27 years old and on the Rockets’ timeline — become available.
