Sony Unveils Much Anticipated 30th Anniversary Playstation 5 Collection

It will soon be 30 years since the first PlayStation was released, and to celebrate, Sony has just announced the much-anticipated 30th Anniversary limited edition PS5 Collection.

The collection features the classic gray hue, which was the color of the first PlayStation console released in 1994, along with the classic multicolored logo, as expected.

Introduced through an official PlayStation Blog as well as a YouTube video, the new range pays tribute to three decades of innovation and excellence in gaming, celebrating the journey from the original PlayStation to the current PlayStation 5.

The 30th Anniversary PlayStation 5 Collection features limited-edition products ranging from the recently introduced PS5 Pro to Sony’s own handheld device, the PlayStation Portal.

A breakdown of the newly introduced collection is as follows:

PlayStation 5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition BundIe

• Includes the limited edition PS5 Pro console with 2TB SSD, Wi-Fi 7 in territories supporting this standard, and matching limited edition accessories – DualSense wireless controller,
• DualSense Edge wireless controller, DualSense Charging Station, and a Console Cover for a Disc Drive (Disc Drive sold separately).

Legacy Of PlayStation’s Anniversary Edition Consoles

Specially curated anniversary editions have been a staple in Sony’s approach to marking significant milestones, making it a common sight to see themed consoles around the corner every time something major happens.

The theme inspired by the first PlayStation ever was also earlier used for the 20th Anniversary celebrations, at the time of which a limited edition PlayStation 4 was announced to celebrate.

The blog also revealed that only 12,300 units of PS5 Pro’s 30th Anniversary Edition will be put out, meaning you will probably have to get in line early when Pre-Orders finally begins on 26th September.
