One of the most famous Skyrim mods is Really Useful Dragons – a mod that perfectly encapsulates what happens when fans gain far too much power over a game. With it installed, the world-eater Alduin becomes Thomas the Tank Engine, among other immersive changes.
Silent Hill 2 now has its own chance to shine. If you thought Pyramid Head was scary enough… you’re wrong, apparently. The industrial revolution and its consequences comes for us all, and you are not safe. Thomas approaches, and he cannot be stopped.
Fans of Silent Hill tend to be hungry for more horrifying games similar in style — maybe with the fog not included.

The mod page for Pyramid the Tank Engine is sparse, for horror thrives in low detail. Beyond a quick, single-line description of what the mod does, the above sentence is all you get before installing the train into your game. On the page, it’s bolded. Underlined. Inevitable.
The creator of this mod is ZombieAli, and judging by his profile on Nexus Mods, he’s no stranger to the modding scene. If you’d like to check his other works, there are plenty of Resident Evil mods to help spice up your experience.
Few mods are quite as silly as this recent one, but few isn’t none.
Modding the Tank Engine – Silent Hill and Beyond
As mentioned in Pyramid the Tank Engine’s description, putting Thomas in places he has no business being in has become a tradition over the years.
Modding is a world truly without limit. Skyrim’s famous (and infamous) modding scene is easily the biggest example of this, but if this new mod is anything to go by, you don’t need to wait a decade or more to have fun modding a game.
This Silent Hill 2 fan-made LEGO game has players craving for it to be real.
Modding is quick now. The speed has become something of a punchline in itself – how often have you seen headlines like “so soon after X game’s launch, someone’s already modded in Y”?
It can take a bit of technical know-how to get things up and running, but modders are nothing if not resourceful. By now, there are ample resources for helping new players get into modding their games. Something as simple as a model-swap is part of the reason why Thomas-themed mods are so popular; they’re easy.
Silent Hill or otherwise, there is little reason to fear modding. Unless you’re scared of Thomas’ face, it’s totally reasonable to be scared of that one.
