Rose Namajunas, the former two-time women’s strawweight champion, takes on third-ranked Erin Blanchfield in the UFC Fight Night 246 co-main event on Nov. 2 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Namajunas (13-6) moved up to the flyweight division in September 2023 after losing the 115-pound championship. After losing her debut fight in the division to Manon Fiorot, Namajunas has put together back-to-back wins and put herself fifth in the rankings. A win over Blanchfield would put Namajunas in title shot territory.
Blanchfield (12-2) hopes to rebound after suffering a decision loss to Fiorot in her last fight in March. With title shot hopes of her own, Blanchfield can not afford to lose two fights in a row.
“Thug” recently shared training footage ahead of her showdown with. Blanchfield at Rogers Place. She’s been putting in the work. “Getting closer! Getting lock’d in,” Namajunas wrote on Instagram accompanied by training footage.
