Pax Dei: How to Place a Chest Storage Box

Pax Dei is the new open world sandbox game on the block. What makes it even better is that it will be completely online. The game is still in development but you can find the Early Access version here on Steam.

Other than the exploration part, there is also building in the game. You can claim plots and build various stuff on them. To keep your thing organized, you will need chest storage boxes. But placing them down can be a bit confusing so this guide will help you out with that.

How to Place a Chest Storage Box

Before I get started, let me mention something else that you might find helpful. If you are in the early stages of the game then you might be confused on which profession to choose. Which is why I suggest you give this a quick read afterwards: Pax Dei: Best Early Game Professions In The Game.

Usually placing objects like chests or other buildings in games like this is quite simple. But it is a bit different in Pax Dei which is why a lot of players are confused. But not to worry, this guide will make everything clear. Let’s first get started on how to actually build a chest box.

Building a Chest

First thing you will need to do is build a Basic Carpenters Workbench. It requires 4 Wooden Beams, 6 Planks and 20 Wooden Pegs. Once you have that built, open its crafting menu and select Simple Chest as you can see in the image below.

Now what you need to do is craft a simple chest (or as many as you need). You will need 8 Planks and 20 Wooden Pegs to craft 1 simple chest. Once you craft a simple chest, it will be added to your inventory.

Placing Down the Chest

After you are done with the crafting part, select the Hammer from your item slots (located at the bottom right side of your screen). You can click on it or press 1. It is marked in the image below if you are confused.

Once you have your Hammer selected, right click on your mouse to open the menu shown below. Here, click on Props and you will be able to see the chest icon (marked in the image below). Click on the chest icon and now you can place it down wherever you want.

From the right click menu of the Hammer, you can place a lot of other stuff as well by clicking on the various tabs such as construction and crafting.
