My understanding of the “summer core” commitment was it wasn’t really a commitment. Nobody was guaranteed a spot if they committed which runs contrary to what Nick Nurse said at the time. Canada shouldn’t be handing out commitments. This is the right decision to pick the best – 4:31 PM

Based on those constraints, a source said Nico Batum, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Kyle Lowry are the free agents the team most likely would like to re-sign. Not only do they mesh well with All-Stars Maxey and Joel Embiid, they might not command a lot of money in the free-agent market. The Sixers could have close to $65 million available in free agency. The team also has a first-round pick (No. 16) and a second-rounder (41) in the NBA draft on June 26 and 27, along with future picks to lump into a trade to acquire a player to fit around Maxey and Embiid. -via The Philadelphia Inquirer / June 2, 2024

Draymond Green: “Our journey did not start in a great place. Chuck used to sit on TV and say he was gonna punch me in my face. He called me Mr. Triple Single. He’s had his fair share of jabs, and I’ve had my fair share of jabs as well. Nonetheless, I absolutely love that brother. He is incredible. He is amazing, and if he retires, what a sad day for NBA basketball. I mean, we’ve all grown accustomed to hearing that voice for the last 27 years in NBA basketball.” -via YouTube / June 20, 2024
Draymond Green: “Monty Williams is now on the free agent market, and I know that the Los Angeles Lakers have been like, I don’t know what’s going on, but I know something’s going to happen fast because you got the draft coming up, you got free agency coming up.” “I know Anthony Davis loved Monty Williams when he played for him at New Orleans. So you ask yourself, should the Lakers consider Monty Williams? And I say, of course, you got to consider him 100%, especially with that tie.” -via YouTube / June 20, 2024
Draymond Green: “Monty Williams got fired by the Detroit Pistons after one season. Congratulations to Monty Williams on getting fired by the Detroit Pistons after season one. He gets to go home and be with his family and pull in $65 million over the next five years while not coaching the Detroit Pistons. How crazy is that to hire somebody for an all-time contract in NBA history and fire them the next year? You didn’t even get a guy a chance to actually build what you thought he could build when you hired him for six years.” -via YouTube / June 20, 2024
