The “Mutant Ant Counterattack” Exploration Codex quest in Throne & Liberty tasks you with attacking the ants in the Ant Nest dungeon.
These mutant ants aren’t just regular ants, no! They’re about as tall as a man, with some of these monstrosities being even larger. They’re quite aggressive and territorial, too… so, it would really help if you went and knocked them down a notch before things get out of hand!
In this guide, we’ll help you complete every objective for the “Mutant Ant Counterattack” Exploration Codex quest.
Mutant Ant Counterattack Exploration Codex | Throne & Liberty Guide
There are 3 objectives for the “Mutant Ant Counterattack” Exploration Codex quest in Throne & Liberty, all of which can be tackled in any order you want. What’s more, all of them take place within the Ant Nest dungeon in Stonegard. You can find it smack dab between the Moonlight Desert, The Raging Wilds, and Sandworm Lair regions.
Also, this isn’t the only Exploration Codex quest for the Ant Nest. Check out our guide for the “Beginning of Misfortune” Exploration Codex questas well. It’s a good idea to try completing both quests together!
The first objective is to investigate the Queen’s Traces. You can find them directly south of the Central Plaza area within the Ant Nest.
They look like large green gooey eggs, as shown above. Do note that the game calls them both Queen’s Traces and Queen’s Tracks. As far as we can tell, this is just an error with the game’s text and they’re both the same thing, so don’t worry too much about it.
Destroy Food Bundles
The second objective is to destroy 3 Food Bundles. You can find the Food Bundles all over the Food Stage section of the Ant Nest, in the north.
Nearby Food Bundles are marked on your map with blue star-shaped icons, so they’re pretty easy to spot. There are also dozens of them and you only need to destroy 3. To destroy them, just attack them with any attack. Just watch out for the enemies in the area!
Kill 3 Ant Larvae
Lastly, you need to find and kill 3 Ant Larvae. They spawn randomly in the Spawning Grounds part of the Ant Nest.
Ant Larvae can be quite tricky to find, however, as they seem to spawn pretty rarely. Be patient when looking for them! Also, keep an eye on your minimap. Just like other Exploration Codex objectives, Ant Larvae will be marked with blue star-shaped icons if you’re tracking the quest. When you do find them, just defeat them like you would any other enemy.
Nonetheless, that’s the end of our guide so you now know everything you need to do to complete the “Mutant Ant Counterattack” Exploration Codex quest in Throne & Liberty!
