Metaphor: ReFantazio Review
It’s more than just fantasy Persona, it’s a JRPG triumph in its own right.
You see, Imagination in one of your five Royal Virtues, the stats that effectively act as your leadership capabilities and will often determine whether you can partake in a particular request, shop in a particular establishment, or progress a certain storyline.
So, to ensure you are never pressed to the class outside looking in on everyone else having all the fun, we have devised a quick little guide to help you raise your imagination stat in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
How to Raise Imagination
There are a variety of ways to raise your Imagination in Metaphor. Early in the game, your best option is to find the storyteller NPC, which is usually available in every major city you visit.
Then, as you progress through the game, you will gain a few additional activities that will allow you to bolster this stat.
For example, usually, after an Operation has concluded, and you are traveling to a new area, your crewmates aboard the Gauntlet Runner will offer Imagination-boosting activities where you can debrief with them about recent events.
Not to mention, also aboard the Gauntlet Runner, you will be able to read a book titled ‘New World Travel Diary’, which will allow you to boost your Imagination stat by either three or four notches depending on your response to Gallica’s question.

Then, you’ll also gain an additional four notches when you finish reading this book, which takes three sessions to complete.
Aside from these methods, you can also gain imagination from completing certain requests and also through progressing More’s Bond, who can be found in Akademia.
As with every Royal Virtue within Metaphor, various roadblocks in the game will present themselves if you do not have a high enough stat to persuade a particular NPC.
A prime example is when the player first reaches Martira and starts taking on some side quests. You’ll encounter the Pompous Man, who you later come to know as Alonzo.
However, you won’t be able to start his questline that will see you travel to the Abandoned Tomb until you have an Imagination stat of two or higher.
Or later down the line when progressing Strohl’s Bond and dealing with the Noble in Grand Trad, you will need an Imagination stat of three or higher to convince them that you knew the Fishmonger.
In these moments, the hard work building your Royal Virtues in your spare time will pay off, so be sure to gradually build these over time, and you’ll always be one step ahead.
