ONE 169 hits U.S. primetime on Prime Video this Friday, November 8, and the two main event athletes are already turning up the heat. ONE Championship‘s three-division king Anatoly Malykhin is not mincing words when it comes to his latest challenger, “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane. They have already had to be separated at the athlete hotel.
While Kane was being recorded, Malykhin took the opportunity to stand in front of the camera and exclaim that he would finish “Reug Reug” on Friday. “Sladkiy” continued to talk and make his prediction. The Senegalese star smiled until the two were face to face when the encounter went from jovial to intense.
“This one shot, head shot. Three days. One shot. This guy, sleep. One shot,” Malykhin stated in the video.
After Malykhin stuck his fist in Kane’s chest and pushed away, the heavyweight challenger responded. It was then that his team stepped in between the two ONE 169 main event athletes to calm the storm that was brewing. But the jawing continued at the ONE 169 press conference.
“I just feel that he’s not a real champion because of the way he won his belt. Beating the same guy twice doesn’t make him a real champion,” Kane said.
Whenever “Reug Reug” would try to speak, Malykhin would anoint him with a new nickname — “Slow Mo.” The ONE Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, and Middleweight World Champion continued to show his supreme confidence when he took the mic. He continued to take shots at the Senegalese wrestling monster.
“This guy is very powerful. He has good power. African power. Good balance? No. He’s very, very slow. No good breathing. Easy work. Easy money. I see this guy, this guy is in danger. 8 November, easy work. ‘Slow Mo,’” Malykhin responded.
The two may have plenty of words right now, but actions will take center stage on Friday, November 8. ONE 169 is a stacked event headlined by their heavyweight showdown for the gold. The unexpected rivalry between these two massive athletes sets the stage for a cracking main event.
ONE 169 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, November 8. The action begins at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. The event is free for all Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada.
