Clash of Clans received a brand-new update just recently, delivering tons of new content to the game along with fixing some notorious bugs and adding a series of quality-of-life improvements. But on top of all of this, the update’s biggest surprise is Angry Jelly.
If you have made enough progress in Clash of Clans, then you already know that Hero Pets are a thing in the game. Today’s update will give you one new pet that can be assigned to any of your heroes, allowing them to become a troop like Hog Rider which only targets defensive structures of the village.
How To Unlock Angry Jelly
Before you can unlock Angry Jelly, make sure that your Town Hall has already been upgraded to Level 16. Once done, you will need to update your Pet House to Level 10, which is the new highest level that arrived with today’s update. This upgrade will require 21.5 million Elixir and take 16 days to complete unless you spend a massive amount of Gems or use your Builder Books to get it updated instantly.
With the Pet House updated to Level 10, Angry Jelly will become available, and it can be upgraded up to Level 10. Each level will add up to the pet’s HP and DPS, with Levels 5 and 10 each adding 5 seconds to the duration of Angry Jelly’s ability. But what’s that ability?
Angry Jelly’s Ability Explained
When you attach Angry Jelly to a hero like Barbarian King, the moment that you drop the hero onto the battlefield, it will start targeting only the defensive structures and opposing heroes. This behavior will last for at least 20 seconds or more based on the level of Angry Jelly.
During the time that Angry Jelly’s ability is active, it cannot be shot down by any opposing units or structures, while it does deal damage next to the Hero. Angry Jelly also has a great passive ability that allows it to prioritize defenses that hit the hero it is attached to, even if the heroes themselves attack another target.
Once the duration of the ability is over, Angry Jelly will fall off the hero’s head, turning into a normal unit that can deal and absorb damage. At this point, your Hero will also start to behave as usual, targeting everything that is closest to them.
As mentioned earlier, Angry Jelly can be attached to any of the heroes, but you will want to attach it to a Hero that is capable of rushing into the defensive structures, and destroying as many of them as possible before the ability ends and without getting downed. It’s also important that your hero can survive once the ability fades off.
With these descriptions, Barbarian King sounds like the best option for Angry Jelly, but that doesn’t mean you should stop trying the new pet with all the other heroes to find creative ways of getting the opponent’s defenses down.
