Elden Ring: Best Build For Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword
Here’s everything you need to maximize the potential of the Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword in Elden Ring.
Despite some tweaks since launch, the bleed effect still does massive amounts of damage, and weapons that inflict it are an excellent option for any build. The Grave Scythe may not bring anything special to the table, but a straightforward bleed weapon with reach can dominate the early parts of the game.

Where To Find The Grave Scythe
The Grave Scythe can be found by killing an enemy that wields it. These enemies are Skeleton Mages and can be found in many graveyards across the Lands Between. While there are many places to find them, there is often only one or two enemies wielding this scythe, making farming for it highly time-consuming. For those wanting to expedite this farming process, travel to the Lake-Facing Cliffs site of grace.
From here, head west until you see a nearby graveyard. This graveyard spawns three skeleton mages that wield the Grave Scythe, and the distance to the site of grace to respawn them makes this the perfect location to farm for the scythe. On your way from the site of grace to the cliffs, along the right side, you’ll see three birds spawning before the cliff. Farming these birds will also help you craft Silver Toed Fowl Feet to increase item discovery and quicken the process of getting the scythe. Riding on Torrent, farm the birds, then head to the graveyard to kill the skeleton mages; using a Silver Fowl Foot whenever you get one is the most efficient way to farm for this weapon.
How To Use The Grave Scythe
The Grave Scythe requires 17 strength and 13 Dexterity to wield. This weapon scales from these two stats equally until some of its highest upgrade levels, where strength reaches a C in damagescaling. The Grave Scythe offers a decent amount of bleed buildup and provides a good range with its melee attacks. Inflicting bleed is an incredible status effect that makes this weapon stronger if you maximize the buildup potential.
This weapon comes with the skill Spinning Slash, which requires 6 FP to use. After the initial spin, using it again will follow up with a second spin followed by a short jump forward and a downward slash. This skill is perfect for dealing with larger crowds of enemies and keeps your character moving during the combo and if used correctly, away from immediate danger. This weapon can also be infused with an Ash of War to switch up its versatility.
