Highlights
- Intrepidity may seem useful, but a mere 5% health loss reduction is hardly noticeable in the grand scheme of things.
- Dominance and Impact are crucial for a Warrior’s kit, enhancing knockdown power and making battles against big enemies easier.
- Vitality’s +200 increase in health is a game-changer for every class, especially Warriors who rely on their health to wield powerful attacks.
Augments in Dragon’s Dogma 2 serve as a way for players to customize their builds and mix and match to bring out the strengths of their Vocation by selecting complementing Augments picked from other Vocations.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Every Mystic Spearhand Augment, Ranked
Wondering which Mystic Spearhand Augment deserves a spot on your loadout in DD2? Here’s the breakdown.
The Warrior Vocation offers a good mix of Augments as reward for ranking it up to max level. We’ve combed through all of Warrior’s Augments and what they bring to the table and organized them in a tier list. Here’s the breakdown.
5 Pertinacity (D-Tier)
Unlock Rank | 6 |
---|---|
Dcp | 1800 |
Description | Improves your ability to break through an opponent’s guard (+30%). |
The only opponents you’ll meet who use the guard mechanic are some variants of Goblins and human fighters who use a shield to block your attacks. That’s it. None of the large enemies in the game like Chimeras and Drakes use anything resembling a guard, meaning this stat doesn’t affect them at all.
+30% might seem like a large number until you take into account that you’ll only get to use this boost against extremely easy to defeat enemies who didn’t pose a threat to you anyways. There is litte point in sacrificing one of your Augment slots for something as situational as this.
4 Intrepidity (C-Tier)
Unlock Rank | 9 |
---|---|
Dcp | 5000 |
Description | Reduces cumulation of the loss gauge when receiving damage (-5%). |
Every time you take damage in DD2, you lose a portion of your maximum health semi-permanently. This loss in maximum health cannot be recovered by curatives or healing items (except Allheal Elixir). This mechanic is called the loss guage.
If your character has Intrepidity equipped, the rate at which their maximum health goes down is slower by 5%. While this is obviously good, and universally useful for all classes, 5% is a very small figure. Completely negligible.
3 Dominance (A-Tier)
Unlock Rank | 8 |
---|---|
Dcp | 3000 |
Description | Augments your Knockdown Power (+15%). |
Knockdown Power governs how quickly enemies stagger as a result of your attacks. This stat is useful both against smaller and larger enemies. For larger enemies, it works as a means of getting enemies to trip and fall mid-battle. For smaller enemies, it works to directly put them down into the dirt with one swing.

Here’s everything you need to know about DD2’s NG+.
Dominance also works for other classes, meaning if you’re playing as an Archer and use an Erupting Shot, the resulting knockdown will be amplified by +15%. The same thing with Mystic Spearhand’s Dragoun’s Foin and other similar skills. Anytime you want to knock something over, Dominance makes it easier.
2 Impact (A-Tier)
Unlock Rank | 4 |
---|---|
Dcp | 900 |
Description | Improves your ability to push and pull targets when grabbing hold (+50%). |
Toppling large enemies over is a big part of fighting against stronger boss monsters like Cyclops and Ogres. While you can absolutely defeat monsters like these without relying on the tripping mechanic and focusing just straight damage, it makes these fights a lot easier.
And as a Warrior, your whole kit is meant to focus on knockdown power and giving enemies the push to bring them down to your level, where you can pummel them into oblivion. Impact increases this tactic’s effectiveness by a full +50%, making it a must-have Augment for any and all Warriors.
1 Vitality (S-Tier)
Unlock Rank | 2 |
---|---|
Dcp | 300 |
Description | Increases your maximum health (+200). |
DD2 doesn’t really show HP and Stamina to you in the form of numbers, so players will most likely not have a frame of reference to know if +200 is a lot or not. Health is a green bar that takes up the bottom of your screen. If you equip Vitality, you can eyeball how much of an increase you got to your health by the length of the bar. Or, you can check the Status from the pause menu and see the real numbers there.
Vitality is an incredible Augment that’s useful for every single Vocation, but especially so for the Warrior. Health is a resource you use to stand your ground and swing your massive sword. As a Warrior, it’s meant to be sacrificed to get that massive swing to land perfectly. And if you have more of it, you’ll get more swings. It’s common sense.
