Crawford Vs. Madrimov: Trainer BoMac Predicts Knockout Victory For ‘Bud’

Terence Crawford’s trainer, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, predicts he’ll be victorious by knockout when he challenges WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3rd at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

BoMac feels that Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) will wipe out unbeaten Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) in their headliner in August. He’s mistakenly viewing the fight as a guaranteed win for his aging fighter Crawford.

Canelo Dreams Clouding Judgment?

The Nebraska native seems focused on getting a title shot against Canelo Alvarez at 168, and he doesn’t realize what he’s getting himself into by taking on the dangerous puncher Madrimov. Crawford wants that Canelo fight so bad that he can taste it.

You can’t blame Crawford for wanting to get a retirement payday against Canelo, but he made the mistake of using Madrimov as a stepping stone.

This could be a big mistake on the 36-year-old Crawford’s part in taking on the murderous puncher Madrimov coming off a year layoff without getting his feet wet in the 154-lb division.

Crawford ain’t young anymore, and even when he was, it would have been a tall order for him to try and beat a fighter like Madrimov.

“Madrimov and that camp is as cool as s***. They’re very nice people, but we got a job to do,” said trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre to Little Giant Boxing. “We got a job to do, and guess what? Ain’t nothing going to hold us back from doing that. We’re going to get that mother f**** [Madrimov] up out of there.”

Porter’s Warning: Madrimov’s Pressure

“This is what Madrimov does well. He’s a great pressure fighter. He brings the mental and physical pressure,” said Shawn Porter to AB Boxing News, discussing what WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov brings to the table for his title defense against Terence Crawford on August 3rd in Los Angeles.

“Do what you do and do it as great as you can do it. Don’t try to divert from that and do anything else,” said Porter, advising Madrimov to follow so he could defeat Crawford. “That’s what Crawford does. He gets you off your game, causing you to do other things, and then you stumble.”
