Announced in June this year, Nintendo’s Mario & Luigi: Brothership is set to be released this November for the Nintendo Switch. While we’re almost a full month away from the game hitting retail, a copy has apparently leaked and is being played by someone right this moment.
The leak is supposedly from a physical copy of the German version, which shows the game downloaded alongside a screenshot:
There’s no other info revealed other than that, and don’t forget, there is a chance this is fake, but based on the comments surrounding it, this could be the real deal. If that’s the case, be wary of spoilers hitting the ‘net soon.
What Is Mario & Luigi: Brothership About?
Mario & Luigi: Brothership is a role-playing game that’s said to be in development at ILCA. It’s the sixth main installment in the Mario & Luigi series, and is the first one not developed by now-defunct AlphaDream after its closure in October 2019 due to bankruptcy. This is the first game in the franchise to feature fully 3D gameplay, and is the first original entry since Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam was released back in 2015.

If true, this isn’t the only thing that has leaked from Nintendo recently. Over the weekend, news broke that Game Freak — the studio behind Nintendo’s Pokemon franchise — has suffered a major data breach. Part of the leaked data from that breach included included info for a new Pokemone game with the codename “Synapse.” Game Freak has since confirmed the data breach, and has issued a statement about it.
While retail physical copies being spotted out in the wild is nothing new, what’s odd here is how far we are from the game’s retail release date of November 7. Don’t be surprised if more info about Mario & Luigi: Brothership leaks in the coming days and weeks.
