The much-anticipated expansion to one of Bethesda’s largest projects, Starfield, is finally here, and it brings with itself an advisory before you jump right in.
Bringing in a new planet called Va’ruun’kai, with 50 brand-new locations and much more new content, the Shattered Space DLC is only for those who are over level 35 and above, or so Tim Lamb recommends in an interview via Gamereactor.
It is not a new sight in the industry to set a few pre-requisites in place to let the player get the most out of a DLC. The most recent example of the same would be Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which required players to defeat 2 main bosses in order to finally step into the Realm of Shadow.
However, when it comes to Starfield: Shattered Space, the studio just suggests a minimum level of progression, still allowing players to jump into the expansion right away if they wish to do so.
The Shattered Space DLC, which was included for free with the purchase of Starfield’s Premium and Constellation editions, introduces new alien creatures and other foes and friends to interact with, along with new forms of combat.
What’s New In Starfield: Shattered Space DLC
Starfield is a completely new domain for Bethesda, being their first original IP introduced in a couple of decades now.
While the reception to the game was underwhelming at first, the community has kept Starfield alive, with many relying on mods to make the mostof the space-exploring AAA title.
As discussed before, the latest Shattered Space DLC introduces a new planet with many new locations to explore. However, it also brings new combat mechanics, as well as an update to Zealots, Spacers, or the Crimson Fleet, which Bethesda says ‘we haven’t seen the last of.‘
Adding more to the game, the studio’s decision to release the DLC is very much appreciated by the fans, as it brings new content just a year after the game’s release, keeping it fresh and alive for now.
