Dana Holgorsen has landed a job with a Big Ten program.
Nebraska has hired Holgorsen as an offensive consultant, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Tuesday.
Holgorsen had been out of work after he was fired as the head coach at Houston following last season. He coached the Cougars for five seasons and went 31-28 overall. Houston was 2-1 in bowl games under Holgorsen.
As Thamel notes, Holgorsen has long worked with top college quarterbacks. The 53-year-old was the head coach at West Virginia for eight seasons before taking the Houston job. Holgorsen was also an offensive assistant at Texas Tech and has worked with quarterbacks like Geno Smith, Brandon Weeden, Graham Harrell and Case Keenum.
Nebraska is hoping Holgorsen can help develop freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola. Over the Cornhuskers’ last four games, Raiola has thrown just one touchdown pass compared to six interceptions. Nebraska has lost its last three and is 5-4 this season.
