How many points did RJ Davis score against Elon?

The North Carolina Tar Heels hit the court for the first time this season, hosting Elon in the Dean Dome on Monday night. It was the season opener for the No. 9 ranked Tar Heels as they get set for a tough non-conference schedule.

While things got off to a good start for the Tar Heels, the second half was a little bit of a sweat.

UNC blew a 12-point halftime lead to Elon and fell behind by two with over five minutes left. But in came RJ Davis to save the day.

The guard scored five unanswered points to help UNC grab the lead and they closed on a 21-2 run to win the game.

RJ Davis points scored vs. Elon:

Davis finished the game with 24 points in the win over Elon but none mattered more than in the second half when he had five straight points to five UNC the lead with five minutes to go. After resting, Davis got back in the game and helped UNC re-gain the lead as part of a 21-2 run to close out the game.

Did UNC win?

Despite being big favorites and blowing a second-half lead, North Carolina did survive and beat Elon 90-76. They had the lead at halftime 51-39 and held it for most of the game until near the end.

The North Carolina Tar Heels will return to the court on Friday night as they head to Lawrence, Kansas to face off against No. 1 Kansas. It will be the first big test for the Tar Heels this season as they have a loaded non-conference schedule.
