Fury FC 98 is back with another action-packed event from Houston, Texas. Local fans will be created to a massive card, featuring UFC veterans and hopefuls alike in the Lone Star State.
The main event will see the vacant Fury FC lightweight championship be decided between unbeaten prospect Mansher Khera and talented local riser Devon Dixon.
Fight fans can catch Fury FC 98 streaming live on UFC Fight Pass with the main card set to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT.
Main Event –FFC Lightweight Championship
“The Punjabi Prince” Khera has torn through the competition three fights into his run in Fury FC. He is 7-0 as a professional, and comes from a grappling background that he has been able to utilize against lesser grapplers early into his MMA career. His last two wins have come by rear naked choke, and against reputable Fury FC competition in Hector Saenz and Jonathan Martin.
The Hoboken, New Jersey native will now look to achieve gold potentially at 8-0 if he can defeat Dixon, who also possesses a legitimate weapon in his ground game. Two of his last three wins have also come by way of the rear naked choke, so it remains a possibility that Sunday’s fight stays standing long enough for the better striker of the two to find an edge. Dixon has finished fights by way of strikes twice in his career, while Khera never has, though Khera, of his seven wins, has won six by way of submission.
Rest of the Card
Moses Diaz, a prospect who has had to overcome adversity a couple times in his career, takes up co-main event billing against Brazil’s Lorram Esteves. Diaz boasts explosive knockout power for the 145-pound division in his hands and legs, but Esteves, a veteran of the Fury FC cage, has only been knocked out once.
Another fight of note will see UFC veteran Josh Quinlan, an LFA prospect who made his mark on Dana White’s Contender Series look to remake himself as a member of the Fury FC welterweight division. His first test will come in the form of 7-4 Sam Kilmer on the main card of Sunday’s show. Speaking of LFA veterans, Alden Coria will meet up with Chris Ocon in the flyweight division. Ocon is also a veteran of DWCS.
