Conor McGregor seems to be relishing a return to action and is beginning to call the shots for who he wants for his undoubtedly huge first fight back in the cage.
‘The Notorious’ has suffered several setbacks regarding his UFC career since sustaining his career-altering injury last time out. After years on the sideline, the Irishman was scheduled to face Michael Chandler but further delays have now brought an end to that matchup — at least for now.
Hoping to book a replacement fight, Conor McGregor has called for a meeting with fellow fan-favorite Dan Hooker for early 2025.
“February 1st in Saudi Arabia,” McGregor said revealing his ideal return date. “Dan Hooker.”
As he always is, Hooker himself is keen to step into the octagon and made his interest clear in his response.
“Lock it in. Yeah, I jumped in the ring,” Hooker said about his encounter with McGregor during BKFC Spain. [We] had a few words inside the ring.”
“Yeah, February 1 works for me in Saudi. We’ll get that thing straight away.”
Determined to make it back to the cage in the first quarter of 2025, Conor McGregor has been actively trying to find a potential opponent.
Another name that McGregor continues to terrorize is newly-crowned UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad.

Always looking to make history, the former two-division UFC titleholder wants to become the first to add gold in three separate division’s to his resume.
McGregor believes that’s possible if he manages to get his hands on Belal Muhammad.
“I’d love to crush my left hook into Belal’s temple and take down the triple crown. I’d do it easily. And fast!”
“I’d cave his skull heavy! The hurdles I face getting back to the octagon are just harrowing. I am so sad over my June 29 fight cancelation.”
“To think this bum is now a UFC champion with zero knockdowns on his resume whatsoever is so bad. The UFC’s most abysmal zero revenue generating fighter in modern history.”
