Mike Tyson reveals reason for pulling out of Jake Paul fight

Months after his clash with Jake Paul was postponed, Mike Tyson has now revealed why he pulled the plug on the fight date.

‘The Problem Child’ rubbed many people the wrong way when announcing his next outing would be against Tyson. Despite his expertise in the sport, many believe that the boxing legend is too old to step into the ring against the much younger, much faster YouTuber, and have urged him to step away from the bout.

Those pleading fans temporarily got their wish when health concerns forced Mike Tyson out of the original July 20 date.

An ulcer flare up caused a delay to proceedings, and Tyson has revealed why he believes the health problems occurred.

“I was doing too much bad food and stuff,” Tyson said as he blames his diet for his earlier fights withdrawal. “I got sick.”

Now attempting to have a healthier diet and avoiding any processed foods, Tyson is ready to get back into the ring — though he has been unable to kick vaping ahead of the affair.

Speaking about the fight, the 58-year-old dismissed any talk of it adding or taking away from his legacy.

“I didn’t take this fight for legacy. I think legacy really, to my perspective, legacy is ego.”

If no more surprise hurdles emerge, Mike Tyson is set to make his long-awaited return to the boxing ring on November 15.

Jake Paul will be looking to continue his legend killing run in the squared circle before either making his MMA debut in the PFL SmartCage or preparing for the 2028 Olympics.
