A king is more than just the shiny crown on their head. They are the sum of their parts. Their humility, Eloquence, charm, and diplomacy, among other things, make up who they are and how they rule.

Metaphor: ReFantazio: How To Beat The Fire Dragon Mauna
Slaying dragons? This really is a fantasy game, huh!?
This is something that Metaphor: ReFantazio knows all too well, and this is why, if you want to stand any chance of usurping Louis and ruling the land, you need to have the attributes of a ruler.
Within this game, these attributes are known as Royal Virtues, and each one will allow you to access new requests, progress various bonds, and unlock new features of this riveting JRPG.
However, we want to hone in on Courage. If you’re wondering how to show the public that you are as brave as they come, you need to check out this guide on raising Courage in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
If you’re wondering how to raise your Courage stat fast in Metaphor, then these three methods are your best bet:
Clear Bounties & Requests
Having Courage is all about facing danger head on, and there’s little more dangerous in Metaphor than the dungeons and the bosses that lurk within them.
The game is keen to throw you headfirst into the action, and across the game’s run, you’ll have the opportunity to take on various bounties, and complete various side quests that will take you to dangerous and hostile hotspots, and you’ll also have the game’s main dungeons to contend with.
These can prove to be tough, but the good news is that almost every one of them will give you Courage for your efforts. So, if you are given the option of loitering around town during your free time or taking off in search of adventure, always choose the latter.
Partake in Activities
When it comes to consistent activities in the various towns you visit, activities that help raise Courage are a little harder to come by, mainly because there are so many quests that help raise this stat plenty.
However, when traveling in the Gauntlet Runner, there are times when you will be able to raise your Courage by talking to Strohl, for example.
Or you may find the man near the diving cliffs in Martira and test your nerve. The point is, while these activities aren’t as plentiful, it’s still worth keeping an eye out for them.
Compete at the Coliseum
Then, lastly, if you believe that no day is complete without a little bloodshed, you just might get a kick out of heading to the Coliseum in Brilehaven.
This area allows you to rise through the ranks, fighting progressively harder beasts as you go in challenging scenarios. It’s a great way to test your skill, and you’ll get a variety of awesome rewards in the process.
However, these rewards aren’t all you get, because if you complete a fight in the Coliseum, you’ll gain four Courage notches too.
Which, considering there are nine fights you can partake in within the Coliseum, is a very worthwhile venture.
The answer is simple, and consistent with all the other Royal Virtues within this game. You need to raise each of these stats gradually over the course of the game’s run, or inevitably, you will be locked out of certain requests and bonds until you do.
Courage is admittedly a Royal Virtue that you don’t need to worry about going out of your way to increase, mainly because if you partake in a lot of the game’s side content anyway, you’ll find that this stat raises pretty naturally. However, you must monitor it closely to ensure you aren’t lagging behind later in the game.
The first instance we found where Courage was needed to access to content was during Brigitta’s Bond, where she asks for at least three Fearless Courage (3 or higher) to progress with her Archetype.
So, if this is important to you, you’ll want to ensure you raise this stat by the time you reach Brilehaven.
