Alec Bohm, the National League’s starting third baseman at this year’s All-Star Game, was out of the lineup for Philadelphia in Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Mets on Sunday.
Edmundo Sosa, like Bohm a right-handed hitter, got the start at the hot corner, batting eighth for the Phillies against Mets right-hander Luis Severino.
Bohm, 28, went 0-for-4 in Philadelphia’s Game 1 loss on Saturday, and he hit . 170 (8-for-47) with a .502 OPS in his final 12 games of the regular season upon his return a stint on the injured list with a hand strain. He had previously made every start in the postseason for the Phillies since 2022, hitting .222 with a .655 OPS and two home runs in 31 games.
