Caitlin Clark is ready for the next stage.
The Indiana Fever rookie enjoyed an historic first season in the WNBA, and now she gets her first opportunity to play in the WNBA playoffs, which begin this weekend.
Clark, the first overall pick in the WNBA Draft earlier this year, became a sports superstar in rewriting college basketball’s record books and leading the Iowa Hawkeyes to consecutive national title game appearances.
Now, Clark will lead Indiana (20-20), the sixth seed in the WNBA playoffs, against the No. 3 Connecticut Sun (28-12) in the best-of-three, first-round series.
It marks the first playoff appearance for the Fever in eight years.
Clark is the first WNBA player to average over 19 points (19.2), 5 rebounds (5.7) and 8 assists (8.4) in a single season. She also broke the WNBA record for assists in a game (19), and broke the league’s season record for assists (337).
