The stakes are raised for the New York Liberty.
Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and the Liberty begin their quest to win the franchise’s first WNBA championship when the 2024 playoffs begin this weekend.
The Liberty (32-8) are the No. 1 overall seed in the WNBA playoffs, marking the second time in franchise history. They have secured home-court advantage throughout the postseason.
They’ll face the eighth-seeded Atlanta Dream in the best-of-three first-round series. The Dream clinched the league’s last playoff berth with a 78-67 victory over the Liberty in the final game of the regular season.
