Warner Bros. Developing New Game Set in The Batman Universe

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is reportedly working on a new video game set in Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe.

Fans of Batman games have long awaited a title that lets them step into the shoes of the Caped Crusader, and it seems their wish might soon be granted.

This information comes from a report by the film industry news site Puck, highlighted by ChiefLee22 on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit (via The Gamer).

The report goes into the current situation at Warner Bros. Discovery, where CEO David Zaslav is considering selling off some assets following the company’s recent stock drop.

AT&T originally intended to sell Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for $4 billion. However, the deal was scrapped because the gaming division was deemed too valuable.

Zaslav was then assigned the task of offloading the gaming side of the company. But, he ultimately chose to keep it within the fold.

The report further mentions that various Warner Bros. Discovery teams are collaborating on different projects. Among these are “the upcoming Penguin HBO show and game, both rooted in the 2022 The Batman movie.”

While it’s unclear whether the game will focus on The Penguin series, a spin-off of The Batman, or The Batman itself, we know from the report that a gaming project based on these properties is currently in development.

Life After The Arkham Trilogy

As of now, Warner Bros. Interactive has remained tight-lipped about any Batman games that might be in the pipeline.

However, with The Batman film grossing $771 million on a budget of $185–200 million, and a sequel slated for October 2026, the timing seems ripe for a new game.

Fans would be more than open to a game where they can play as Robert Pattinson’s version of the Dark Knight.

Given the success of the film and the continued interest in Batman-related media, it would be a no-brainer for Warner Bros. to develop a game where players can step into the shoes of Pattinson’s Caped Crusader.

For now, fans will have to wait and see if these reports materialize into the game they’ve been eagerly anticipating.
