Genshin Impact: Hard Saurian Barrier Puzzle Guide Natlan

While Genshin Impact is primarily an action game, the game contains a ton of creative puzzles that can be pretty hard to solve. The latest expansion adds even more puzzles for you to find and solve, including the Hard Saurian Barrier puzzle.

In terms of difficulty, this is easily one of the hardest puzzles in the latest expansion. It has a lot of moving parts, so solving it will require you to really work your brain. To help you out here, our guide will look at exactly what you need to do to solve this puzzle.

Hard Saurian Barrier Puzzle

The Hard Saurian Barrier puzzle is a part of the “Revelations From The Past” quest. Tracking this quest will take you straight to the Hard Saurian Barrier puzzle.

Your objective for this puzzle will be to activate two separate light switches at the same time. As Genshin doesn’t allow you to use more than one character at the same time, you will need to use a Saurian to solve this puzzle.

Using a Saurian

You will be able to freely switch between your characters and a Saurion all throughout this puzzle. When you arrive at the puzzle’s location, the game will give you a short tutorial on how this mechanic works and how you can use it.

The Saurian you can control will have much slower movement than your own personal character, and at the same time have very bad jumping. That said, the Saurion makes up for those weaknesses through its extremely useful burrowing ability. It can burrow into hard surfaces and move both vertically and horizontally. A big part of this puzzle will require you to use this ability.

Solving The Puzzle

As soon as you start the puzzle, take control of the Saurian and climb onto the platform right in front of you.

After climbing onto the platform, you will need to switch over to your character and activate a lever. You can find this lever by going straight from the point where you start and then turning right. The image above shows the lever you need to get to.

Activating this lever will move the platforms inside the puzzle area. The platform the Saurian is on will move upwards. So after you activate the lever, switch over to the Saurian again and make your way to the point shown in the image above. You can get there by simply jumping down from the platform you are currently on.

When you get down from the platform, you will need to activate the monument in front of you. Activating this monument will require you to utilize the Saurian’s burrow ability. You can use the burrow ability by using the right-click button on your mouse. After burrowing into the ground, all you need to do to activate the monument is ram into it with the Saurian.

Once you’ve activated the monument, switch over to your main character and make your way to this monument. For the next part of the puzzle, you will need to shoot at this monument using a bow and arrow. Doing this will raise a red magma bridge that you will need to use to get the Saurian to one of the light switches.

Getting to The Light Switches

With that done, switch back to the Saurian and make your way to the red magma bridge you just raised. You can get to the top here using the Saurian’s burrow ability. So while you are burrowed, you can climb the wall by simply moving towards it.

When you get to the top, you can use the red magma bridge to get the Saurian to the light switch. Before you do this though, you will also need to get your character to the other light switch. So to do this, activate the lever on the platform adjacent to the red bridge. Activating the lever here will move the platforms back to the original position that they were in before you used the first lever.

After activating the lever, switch back to your character and make your way to the platform in front of the monument you shot at to raise the bridge. Once you are on top of this platform, switch back to the Saurian and operate the lever one last time. Operating the lever will move your character to the light switch you need to get them to.

You can then end the quest by moving the Saurian to the light switch adjacent to the red magma bridge.
