Seasonal festivals make each of Stardew Valley‘s seasons special. Each festival’s events offer you a chance to win special prizes—like a new hat !
Each Winter, the Night Market offers prizes for participating in its games and events. Attending a performance on the Mermaid Boat can win you a lovely Pearl.
When Is the Night Market
The Night Market takes place from the 15th to the 17th of Winter each year. It opens on the Beach at 5 PM and closes at 2 PM.
Visiting the Night Market is a good way to catch up with the villagers. Certain villagers are there each evening, so if you’re romancing someone, be sure to attend.
Unlike other festivals, Stardew Valley’s in-game clock runs during the Night Market. Be sure to get home before passing out!
The Shrouded Figure at the market can send you back to the farm for the low, low price of 250g. This has the same effect as a Warp Totem: Farm .
The Mermaid Boat
The Mermaid Boat is open from 5 PM until 12:30 AM. Don’t worry—so long as you get inside before closing, you can stay for the Mermaid’s whole show.
When you enter, the Mermaid begins to sing. Her performance lasts for 1 hour and 40 minutes. However, you can leave at any time.
If you leave the Mermaid Boat and return, she’ll start her performance all over. Once the curtains close, you can play the five clams by the stage to make different notes.
Mermaid Boat Puzzle Solution Explained
If you activate the clams in the correct order, you’re rewarded with the Pearl . Playing correctly re-creates the Mermaid’s song.
When played from left to right, the left-most clam has the lowest note. The right-most clam has the highest note.
The clams in numbered order, 1 through 5.
The correct order is 1-5-4-2-3. After playing the clams, you’ll be rewarded with the Pearl!
Be careful to play the clams correctly. If you play the wrong one, the game won’t recognize the sequence, and you’ll need to listen to the Mermaid’s song again.
In single-player, the Mermaid Boat only provides one Pearl. However, in co-op games, each player has a chance to get their own.
There is actually a way to learn the solution without looking up a guide, as Secret Note #15 found in the game hints at this solution.
