Stardew Valley‘s seasonal festivals are a fun way to interact with the villagers, and the Egg Festival is no exception. This festival’s main event is a hunt pitting you against the villagers to collect the most eggs.
The Egg Festival is held on the 13th day of Spring each year, and occurs between 9 AM and 2 PM in the town center. Arrive late, and you’ll miss it!
Once the festival begins, talk to Mayor Lewis to start the egg hunt. However, make sure to explore the festival first. After the egg hunt is over, you return to your farm at 10 PM.
Winning The Egg Hunt
Did you know you can talk to Pierre on odd years? Go east around the General Store and Clinic to reach him.
To win this event, you’ll need to gather 9 eggs in 50 seconds. Any less, and Abigail will win—even if you’re romancing her, she won’t cut you any slack!
Fortunately, the area you have to search is restricted by Pierre ‘s souvenir stand and other decorations set up around town. There’s no route up to the Community Center, east across the river, or south to the Beach.
If you’re the winner, Lewis adds a new Straw Hat to your cosmetics collection.
Egg Hunt Strategy
The egg hunt begins in the Town Center. With the limited time available, it’s important not to retrace your steps. Avoid eggs which require backtracking (like the alley west of Emily & Haley’s House).
- The most egg-dense area is the south of town, by the Graveyard and the Mayor’s House. Whether an odd or even year, start by heading southeast.
- Pick up visible eggs near the Stardrop Saloon, then head south along the east side of the Graveyard. Grab the eggs there, then head east along the River toward the Mayor’s House.
- If there’s still time after getting the eggs along the River and the Mayor’s House, head north past Lewis’s truck. By the time you’ve gathered any remaining eggs by the Trailer or Alex ‘s House, time should be called.
Enjoy watering your own unique farm in your new Straw Hat!
Egg Locations
The location of the eggs alternates between two different patterns, depending on whether it’s an odd or an even year. You’ll be able to see some eggs, but not reach them.
Don’t worry! There are always enough accessible eggs to win the event.
