Actor and editor José Mellinas recently mocked up some images to showcase what Snake would look like in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater if he had the face of David Hayter. The epic design has sparked comments from the game’s community as they request that the iconic voice actor receive an option mask in the upcoming remake.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is an upcoming remake of the 2004 classic, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and will once again see David Hayter lend his voice to Naked Snake. Hayter has been the voice of Snake ever since the original Metal Gear Solid in 1998. The only Metal Gear Solid game that Hayter hasn’t appeared in was Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, as Venom Snake was voiced by Kiefer Sutherland.

Resident Evil Village’s third-person mode should have been implemented into A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead”s gameplay.
Despite being the voice of the character for so many years, and even having similar facial features to Snake, Hayter has only ever voiced the character and never been the face model for him. But fans think it’s about time that was changed with the upcoming remake.
Over on the Metal Gear Solid subreddit, one user asked the question: “Would you mind if David Hayter was Snake’s new face model?” They then included a handful of screenshots from actor José Mellinas, who shared their designs of David Hayter as Snake last month.
“Personally I’d love it,” the original poster said. “He fits so well and already kinda looks like Snake anyways.” However, not everyone agreed. While many believe Hayter does deserve to have some sort of option in-game mask, many of the comments say it shouldn’t be the canonical design of Snake in the remake.
“As a customisation option (like a mask) it’d be nice, but not as the canonical look for Snake in Snake Eater,” one Reddit user said. Another user, who was clearly on the same page, said, “I don’t like the idea of doing it canonically, but as an unlockable mask or something would be really cool.”
Another user came up with the idea of allowing David Hayter to be the face of Snake in the remake’s New Game Plus mode. “This would be a really cool NG+ face camo option. Give us David, kojima, mgs1 snake, and whatever other characters they can include.”
