Texas Tech basketball teams now know where they’ll be headed for Big 12 Conference play in the 2024-25 season.
The conference announced the opponent matrix for the Big 12’s new 16-team outlook on Thursday. The Big 12 welcomes four new members – Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah – to replace Texas and Oklahoma.
Men’s teams will play 20 conference games with five opponents marked as road-only, another five as home-only and the final five being home and away opponents.
On the women’s side, there will be 18 conference games with three home-and-away opponents and six as only home or road games.

The Red Raiders have some marquee home games in Grant McCasland’s second season as head coach. Tech will play both Houston and Arizona twice, as well as Arizona State, Oklahoma State and TCU.
Houston and Arizona are projected to be high-ranked teams in preseason polls and are considered among the early favorites to challenge for the conference championship.
Baylor, UCF, Colorado, Iowa State and West Virginia will all make trips to Lubbock as well. Tech played Baylor and UCF twice each last season and paid visits to the Cyclones and Mountaineers.
The Red Raiders will hit the road to BYU, Cincinnati, Kansas, Kansas State and Utah.
Texas Tech is coming off a 23-11 season that saw the Red Raiders go 11-7 in Big 12 play, tying for third in the conference standings and advancing to the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Red Raiders welcome back third-team all-Big 12 selection Darrion Williams and added new faces through the transfer portal, including New Mexico transfer JT Toppin, who was named Mountain West freshman of the year last season.
The Lady Raiders will play Colorado, Houston and TCU twice next season and play host to BYU, Utah, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Cincinnati and West Virginia.
Road games for the Lady Raiders include trips to Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State and UCF.
Texas Tech went 17-16 last season and will have a slew of new faces for the 2024-25 season, including Lubbock native Adlee Blacklock and Jalynn Bristow of Wichita Falls, who transferred from Oregon State and Iowa State, respectively.
