There are plenty of spirit summons to try out in Elden Ring, some better than others. Regular spirit summons can be pretty handy and have their own uses, but most of the ashes you’ll want to use and upgrade are Legendary Ashes.

From its location to the best builds to support it, here’s everything you need to know about the Frenzied Burst Incantation in Elden Ring.
Legendary Ashes are harder to come by in the Lands Between because, well, they’re legendary. Now, how about being able to summon… yourself? The Mimic Tear spirit summons does just this; it calls an identical “mimic” of your current character to attack your enemies. It doesn’t get much more legendary than that.

Accessing Nokron, The Eternal City
In order to find the Mimic Tear Ashes, you first must unlock Nokron, The Eternal City. To do so, you must progress through the game up to the point when you defeat Starscourge Radahn at Redmane Castle. After doing so, the entrance to Nokron will have opened up.
Travel To Fort Haight West in southeast Limgrave and travel northwest. Be mindful of your left-hand side; the meteor Radahn had been holding back crashed into the earth here, leaving a giant abyss in the ground. Carefully make your way down the floating chunks of stone until you enter a cavern. Jump to the floor below, walk through the entrance with white flames on either side, and you will have entered Nokron, The Eternal City.
Finding The Mimic Tear Ashes
Once you’ve entered Nokron, travel along the rooftops until you find the Site of Grace. Rest here, and continue onwards through the door. Travel east through the thin stairwell and make your way toward the looming “traverse the mist” door. Defeat the boss here (surprise, it’s you!), rest at the Site of Grace, and continue through the large door to the northeast.
From this point, you need to find the Night’s Sacred Ground. Travel across the bridge and hang a left; you will want to hug the tall cliffs on the left side until you come across a path that leads to a Site of Grace. Rest here before jumping off the cliff onto the roof ahead. Fight your way across the rooftops until you enter a building’s interior. Once inside, a hallway upstairs towards the east will have a Stonesword Key Gargoyle. Feed him a Stonesword Key, defeat the enemy inside, and open the chest. Viola! You now have the Mimic Tear Ashes.
The Mimic Tear Ashes
The Mimic Tear Ashes as per their description: “Legendary ashen remains. Use to summon the spirit of a mimic tear. Summoning consumes HP rather than FP. This spirit takes the form of the summoner to fight alongside them, but its mimicry does not extend to imitating the summoner’s will. Mimic tears are the result of an attempt by the Eternal City to forge a lord.” When summoning the Mimic Tear, it will consume 660 HP and 0 FP, so make sure you have a Flask of Crimson Tears on deck.
Your mimic will use equipped weapons (prioritizes your right-hand weapon), armor, shields, and talismans. In addition, they will use consumables, and have unlimited arrows, bolts, and spells/incantations, but they can’t use Great Runes or Pouch items.
