How To Find Dragonlord Placidusax
Dragonlord Placidusax is located in the Crumbling Farum Azula. Start from the Beside The Great Bridge site of grace, making your way down the elevator and outside of the building and then heading backward. Once outside the small cathedral, continue forward until you reach the ledge. Look over and down to find a few rock formations sticking out where you can land. Fall down to the nearest one.
Continue down this path of floating rocks, requiring you to jump down from rock to rock towards the massive tornado and piece of a destroyed building. Along the small piece of the structure directly in front of the tornado will be the option to “Lie down.” Doing so will trigger a cutscene as the structure, and your character go back in time to find Dragonlord Placidusax in the middle of the newly formed arena.
Defeating Dragonlord Placidusax
The weak spot of this boss is either one of its two heads. While these are its weak points, and there are two to try and hit, they are fast-moving and often well outside the range of most melee attacks. This boss has a decent defense against almost all damage types, with it having the same amount of resistance to all elemental attacks and physical attacks. The only type of damage it will receive a bit more than usual is from piercing damage. While it is resistant to all types a good amount equally, this keeps all playstyles equally effective against him.
Prepare For The Lightning Attacks
Placidusax has a wide range of attacks, granting it the ability to effectively attack you no matter where you choose to fight from. Melee attacks from its bite or claw attacks will do the usual physical damage, but most of its attacks will be lightning-based, making lightning resistance your top priority when preparing for this fight. While all of Placidusax’s attacks are quick and usually combos, there is a decent amount of time between attacks for you to get your own in.
Ranged fighters have the advantage of always having the option to aim for the heads. Stay back and constantly on the move, watching the ground for red lightning. While many of Placidusax’s attacks are melee and come from the dragon, a few lightning-based attacks come from the sky and may catch you off guard if you’re only focusing on the actual boss.
Target The Legs
Melee fighters will have a much tougher time, and Placidusax has different attacks for each leg and can accurately hit you no matter where you stand. Most of the incoming melee attacks will also be imbued with red lightning, so lightning resistance is a necessity, making it just as big a threat as physical damage. Fight from between the legs, and switch between them with each combo from the boss. Take advantage of the slightly longer time between attacks to get a few attacks in before dodging to the other leg once you see the wind-up.
