The next mainline Call of Duty game, Black Ops 6, maybe finally revamping the game’s UI and menu layout, according to leaker and data miner BobNetworkUK.
In a rather cryptic post on the leaker’s X (formerly Twitter) account, Bob posted an image of Call of Duty’s current UI with a red cross overlaid on the top of the screen, suggesting that Treyarch could be set to redesign the controversial menu design with the release of Black Ops 6 later this year.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Is Reportedly Still Refusing To Ditch Last-Gen Consoles
According to a leak from a GameStop employee, Black Ops 6 is refusing to let an 11-year-old piece of hardware die.
Call of Duty’s menu system and general UI have been a hot topic in the game’s community ever since the release of 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot. The game included a complete overhaul to the franchise’s UI design and was somewhat reminiscent of Disney+ or Hulu. As you can imagine, the redesign didn’t go down too well with fans.
To make matters worse, the UI has been identical year after year due to each new entry being tied to one app, which is now known as Call of Duty HQ. This means that when a new title launches annually, those who purchase the game will not be required to install a separate app as all Call of Duty games will now come under the HQ app. According to Bob, Black Ops 6 will continue this trend and remain tied to Call of Duty HQ, but the game’s UI could finally see a fresh look implemented.
How much of the UI will change is yet to be seen, as Bob says they “do not know the full extent of the change.” But according to another leaker, known as Crashfty, Black Ops 6’s UI redesign will be reminiscent of Black Ops 2’s. “The COD HQ menu will be changed when the official Warzone and Black Ops 6 multiplayer are integrated, it will become better and simpler,” the leaker noted.
BobNetworkUK previously revealed that the highly-requested Theatre Mode will also be making a comeback with Black Ops 6. The mode was last seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and saved the user’s last 20 games for them to view, edit, and more.
There’s no word on when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released, but it’s set to be fully revealed during this weekend’s Xbox showcase. Announced last month, the Xbox Games Showcase is set to reveal new games from Xbox Game Studios and will be immediately followed by a Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct, where Activision will offer a deeper look into the next instalment of this iconic franchise.
The showcase will take place on Sunday, June 9 at 10AM PT / 1PM ET / 6PM BST and can be streamed directly from Xbox’s official YouTube channel.
