LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Finally, there was another Tiger roar in Thursday’s opening round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club.
After starting his round on the back nine and making the turn at 1-over 37, Tiger Woods gave fans another reason to cheer with his second birdie of the day on the par-3 third.
The four-time PGA Championship winner and fifteen-time major champion hit his tee shot to five-and-a-half feet and then sank a birdie to move back to even par after 12 holes.
Woods had another birdie on the par-4 13th hole and bogeys on Nos. 11 and 15.
