The Winged Scythe is a reaper-type weapon in Elden Ring that both deals holy damage and negates incoming holy damage. Since you can find this weapon while still in Limgrave, it’s worth finding and acquiring it as early as you can.
Elden Ring’s Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC Gets Power Scaling Right
Elden Ring adopting Sekiro-style power scaling in Shadow of the Erdtree is inspired. If it works well, it should be the standard going forward.
Additionally, the weapon also includes a passive bloodloss buildup effect that makes it an excellent choice for dealing with percentage-based bleed damage. If you’ve been trying to locate this weapon, consider reading the following guide as it outlines everything about the Winged Scythe, including its location and stats.

Travel To Tombsward Ruins
To find the Winged Scythe, you must first travel to the Weeping Peninsula in Limgrave. Begin by locating the Bridge of Sacrifice, which connects northern Limgrave to southern Limgrave — right about where you can begin Irina’s questline.
Once you get to the southern part of Bridge of Sacrifice, continue the main road path, you will pass by a giant as well as a few other enemies, until you reach the top of a sloped path. Here, as shown in the video above, you need to turn right and follow the new path until you spot a Lost Grace on your left.
You need to turn left and pass by the Lost Grace until you reach a wooden bridge. Get to the other side of the bridge and continue moving straight until you can spot a church ahead. That is the Church of Pilgrimage, and you should turn left before reaching the church.
Now, the closest ruined house on your right is the Tombsward Ruins, where a big mouse also roams around.
Upon arriving at the Tombsward Ruins search for the stairs leading down to a crypt below.
Exercise caution, as the crypt is guarded by humanoid enemies called Pages. These Pages use fire arrows for medium-to-long-range engagements and an Epee for close-range combat.
Eliminate the Pages and unlock the treasure chest within the Tombsward Ruins crypt to obtain the Winged Scythe.

Winged Scythe Stats & Features
The Winged Scythe is a versatile weapon when it comes to scalability, primarily relying on Strength, Dexterity, and Faith. Additionally, it features a unique weapon skill called Angel’s Wings and cannot be infused with an Ash of War.
To effectively wield this weapon, you’ll need to meet specific attribute requirements:
- Strength: 16
- Dexterity: 16
- Faith: 24
Moreover, the weapon includes a passive ability that causes 55 bloodloss buildup with each hit. You can upgrade the Winged Scythe to +10 using Somber Smithing Stones.
If you’re in the early stages of the game and planning to put together a strong Faith or Dexterity build, the Winged Scythe is an excellent weapon of choice. Ensure you prioritize leveling up your Dexterity and Faith attributes to maximize the weapon’s potential. To meet the Strength requirements, you can also consider two-handing the weapon, as it provides a 50% increase to your strength attribute.
