The Giants lead the NFL with 35 sacks this season, the most by a team in its first eight games since the 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars (who also had 35 sacks).
This Sunday versus Washington, they can become the fifth team in the past 20 seasons (2005-24) with at least four sacks in five consecutive games. The 2022 Philadelphia Eagles, 2015 Denver Broncos, 2014 Buffalo Bills, and 2008 Dallas Cowboys are the others.
In the Giants’ first meeting with Washington in Week 2, they sacked quarterback Jayden Daniels five times in the game. They are averaging 4.4 sacks per game — the only NFL team this season averaging over four sacks per game.
The Giants’ pass rush is led by nose tackle Dexter Lawrence (9.0 sacks), linebacker Azeez Ojulari (6.0), and linebacker Brian Burns (5.0).
