10 Digby Boy

An early-game Deviation that can help you accumulate Ores while you’re farming for materials in the post-apocalyptic overworld. While you’ll outperform it in mining, it will consume the time you could spend activating Rift Anchors instead.
That’s why this Deviation is essential to farm Copper, Tin, and Iron Ores in the early game. The Digby Boy will prioritize mining platforms if deployed in your territory. If you’re able to get the Startrace ores from the mining platform, you can produce Stardust source and start trading with other players.
Once you unlock Memetics to craft Aluminum and Tungsten Ores, you can shift to Advanced or Solar Drills for better mining output.

The Deviation is used to obtain the Inspiration Fragment materials for the Utter Delight whim potion, which extends to the duration of other whim potions by 35%. The effect lasts for 2 hours.
The Utter Delight Whim potion helps conserve materials for other Whim potions. Often, this is the first potion I inject before consuming other Whims.

Another exceptional Deviation that produces the Heart Vine material for crafting the Living Armor Whim Potion with the Chloro-Armor effect. As soon as your character’s health drops below 20%, the Chloro-Armor will vanish to recover 100% health within 5 seconds. In short, it’ll also recover the sanity that was depleted.
The effect has a cooldown of 10 minutes, and reusing the Whim potion doesn’t replenish the effect.
So, it would be best to wait until the cooldown is complete to regain the Chloro-Armor buff. The Whim potion can help you complete solo Phase challenges, where you must take on challenging content without being critically injured.

One of my favorite Deviations produces The Thread of Dreams material for crafting The Weaver whim potion. The Weaver Whim potion leaves a spider web whenever you roll while being chased by enemies.
The webs can catch multiple enemies and give you breathing room to reposition, heal, and reload. The Whim potion is immensely helpful in challenging content like the LEA lab, where numerous Deviants swarm you. The Deviants there are out for blood.
You can only have 6 Whims active at a time

A necessary Deviation that can send your coordinates to the team for teleportation. The Deviation produces the Spacial Keystone material, a key ingredient to craft Space Twisters, with a cooldown of 15 seconds.
The item is for one-time use, so let your team know beforehand. That’s why you should have multiple Space Twisters to summon your team near key events like Prime Wars.
I usually summon my teammates outside the Prime Wars’ barriers to help with building structures before initiating the event. Alternatively, you can summon them to daily events like Paradise Lost, Dig to Hell, or Cargo Scramble.

The Deviation’s cooking proficiency increases with its Deviant Energy level, which grants additional buffs to the dishes made at your territory. The higher the skill rating, the better your dishes’ unique effect will be.
You can even stack unique dish sub-stats like Max Stamina +40, Max Stamina +25, and HP restoration if the key dish has been made with different types of meat.
The dishes’ main bonus might not scale astronomically. However, a minor %age gain in the main dish effect will stack with other Gear bonuses and will be impactful in prolonged fights.
That’s why the Deviation is a good choice for dishes like Crumbly Bread or Canned Meat, which provide damage bonuses.
4 Buzzy Bee

Deviated plants will be a significant ingredient in making dishes with exquisite bonuses in the end-game content. That’s where Buzzy Bee Deviation can help you. The Deviation increases the mutation chance of planted crops, where the higher the Deviant Energy level is directly proportional to the mutation chance.
This doesn’t mean that every single crop will be Deviated. The %age chance is low as the Buzzy Bee can only pollinate a few into Deviated variants.
However, as Deviated Crops don’t spoil, you can store them in your Storage crates and hoard them over time for unique dishes like Crumbly Bread or Canned Seafood in Oil.
The Buzzy Bee Deviation doesn’t water your plants; the Rainman Deviation does.
3 Growshroom

The Deviation automatically plants seeds and accelerates the rate of crop growth. The higher the Deviant Energy rating, the faster the growth rate is. It’ll help you harvest plants and seeds in one go. However, you cannot choose fertilizers with seeds.
To use special fertilizers with crops, you have to plant them manually. I prefer to submit a lot of Corn, Wheat, and Beet seeds to mass-produce Corn Ale, Malt Ale, and Sugar, respectively. The Deviation can harvest its kin, allowing you to claim a Growshroom.
However, the level may not be high. As a beginner, you want to get this Deviation to start farming for crops in the early game.
2 Electric Eels

After building the generators, I prioritize placing the Electric Eels in the Isolated Securement Units. These Deviations increase the power limit of Generators in your territory. The higher the skill rating is, the more output your generators will give.
With 5-Skill Electric Eels, each of my generators gives 60W+ energy at my base. However, I recommend placing facilities according to the minimum power output to avoid downtime during the Electric Eels’ resting period.

The Deviation has the chance to drop from the LEA labs challenge. It summons Mitsuko’s avatar to your territory to play Piano, which improves other Deviations’ energy recovery efficiency. You have to place an Upright Piano in your territory for Mistuko.
For a base, having improved recovery efficiency matters a lot. I’ve replaced my Extradimensional Cat Deviation with Rebecca to help other Deviations recover their energy.
The Deviation’s functionality is similar to the Shroomer Noct Pal in Palworld, which helps to reduce the Sanity depletion rate of Pals at the base.
