As you work your way through the fourth chapter of Black Myth Wukong, you’ll find that the Webbed Hollow lives up to its name, as you’ll need to take on a variety of Spider bosses if you want to progress. However, many players would argue that Violet Spider is the most challenging of them all.
This boss has a number of gimmicks that will stunt your mobility and inflict status effects throughout the fight. But, if you take the advice within this guide, you might just be able to annihilate this arachnid foe and get yourself to the surface, and see the sun again.
How to Prepare For Violet Spider
Violet Spider, as mentioned, is a tricky fight due to their ability to inflict poison and use sticky webs to make movement and dodges less effective during this fight. But you can make some decisions pre-fight that will aid you when this eight-legged monster comes at you.
This is the ideal build to run for this fight:
The curios are the most important aspects of this particular build, as this will grant players poison resistance, which is key if you want to survive this fight, and the resistance will allow you to stay on the offensive for longer.
Alongside this build, I would also urge players to ensure that they have the Bluebridge RomanceDrink equipped. This will grant players higher movement speed every time they heal with your Gourd, which is a godsend when you end up tangled in a web during this fight.
How To Beat Violet Spider
The Violet Spider fight will usually begin with the Spider casting a slew of webs on the ground to lower your movement speed, and they will usually follow this up with a strong melee attack that inflicts poison.
If you can avoid this altogether, do so. But if you do get caught in the web, dodge repeatedly to get out of the firing line.
After this exchange, the spider will likely use an attack that spews poisonous acid on the ground before them. It’s best to try and get out of that puddle of acid and work to get behind them to continue dealing damage.
They will also use a series of strong melee attacks, such as a somersaulting attack and a triple leg pierce attack. All you can do here is watch the moment of their front legs and dodge just before the point of impact.
Outside of these routine attacks, Violet Spider also performs a move where they bury their head underground and then explode, spreading a toxic sludge around the arena. It’s best to back off as much as possible as soon as you see them bury their head.
However, their most dangerous attack is their attack that sends you into a state of psychosis, and during this period, you’ll be raised from the ground onto a large, sticky web. This can only be avoided if you manage to read and avoid their attack that is telegraphed with a white light.
If you get caught in this attack, your only hope of survival is performing a series of very precise dodges. Chances are, this will see you repeat this fight again, so do your best to avoid being caught in their web.
If you can avoid this, Violet Spider will continue to rotate through their melee and poison attacks, and you’ll simply need to stay alive and find safe windows to attack until they go down.
A great way to deplete their health is by making use of A Pluck of Many , alongside your Ebon Flowtransformation, as this gives you a window of invulnerability, and allows your duplicates to chip away at their health with ease.
Rewards For Defeating Violet Spider
If you manage to defeat the Violet Spider, you will receive the following rewards for your efforts:
The Spider Leg is the standout reward here is this will allow players to craft the Spider Celestial Staff , a weapon that is very powerful and brilliant when faced with poison build-up enemies.
Plus, you’ll also gain some rare materials to help craft new armor like the Non-Pure Armor of Coiling Loong Armor set.
